Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting!
Ippo Makunouchi ist ein sehr schüchterner Schüler, der kaum Freunde hat und auch keine Zeit, um welche zu finden, da er oft seiner Mutter im Bootsverleih helfen muss. In der Schule wird Ippo von seinen Mitschülern nicht beachtet und von einigen gemobbt und geschlagen. Als er eines Tages nach der Schule mal wieder von seinen Mitschülern geschlagen wird, kommt ihm der Profiboxer Takamura zu Hilfe. Beeindruckt davon, wie Takamura die Schläger zur Flucht bewegt, stellt sich Ippo die Frage, was es heißt stark zu sein. Von da an trainiert er Tag für Tag, um ein erfolgreicher Boxer zu werden und lernt dabei neue Freunde, aber auch starke Rivalen kennen.
