Ryu trainierte in seiner Jugend mit Ken in einem japanischen Dojo. Eines Tages kommt Ken aus Amerika zurück und beide reisen von da an um die Welt – auf der Suche nach anderen Fightern, um ihre Kampfstile zu vervollkommenen. Dabei lernen sie Chun Li kennen, eine kampferprobte schöne Frau. Auf ihrer Reise begegnen ihnen noch viele Kämpfer, gute wie böse.
