Um den Titel eines Magister Magi zu erhalten, muss der zehnjährige (neunjährige in wahrheit) Zauberlehrling Negi Springfield sich einer Prüfung unterziehen. Mit dieser Art von Prüfung hatte er allerdings nicht gerechnet: als Klassenlehrer soll er die 2-A der Mahora-Junior High unterrichten...einer reinen Mädchenschule. Jetzt steht er gleich vor mehreren Problemen - nicht nur, dass seine Schülerinnen nicht herausfinden dürfen, dass er über Zauberkräfte verfügt, er muss auch erstmal lernen, sich gegen die lebhafte Truppe durchzusetzen. Die sind nicht nur alle etwas älter als er, sondern finden ihn auch noch zum Knuddeln süß...
